Whiteboards have replaced chalkboards in virtually all schools. They are also becoming increasingly popular in businesses and households as a central messaging center and bulletin board area. Whiteboards are a nice alternative to a regular bulletin board because messages and notes can be changed quickly and easily without having to throw away paper. Whiteboards are not that difficult to install and many people have found out very quickly how useful having one in the home can be.
Step 1 Decide where you want to hang the white board.
Step 2 Run the stud finder along the location and mark where the studs are in the walls.
Step 3 If there are no studs in the location you want to hang the whiteboard, cut open the wall and attach the 2x blocking from one stud to the other stud to provide backing for the whiteboard at that location.
Step 4 Measure and mark the height of where you want the top of the whiteboard to be.
Step 5 Drill pilot holes at the studs where you want to secure the whiteboard to the wall.
Step 6 If you had to place blocking, close up the wall with dry wall and drywall patch.
Step 7 Paint the opening you just patched to match the existing wall around it.
Step 8 Place at least 2 screws at every 3 feet of width to hang the whiteboard.
Step 9 Hang the whiteboard on the screws.
